In this role, you will protect our digital infrastructure and sensitive data across Southern Africa, ensuring a secure foundation for delivering critical services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategy & Leadership: Provide strategic direction on cybersecurity initiatives, aligning them with the organization’s mission.
- Policy Development & Compliance: Develop and enforce cybersecurity policies and ensure compliance with regulations such as PCI-DSS and privacy laws.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct risk analyses, identifying vulnerabilities and proposing mitigation measures to safeguard digital assets.
- Incident Response: Lead incident response efforts, ensuring effective crisis management and continuous improvement of response plans.
- Security Solutions: Collaborate with IT to design secure systems, implementing proactive measures to protect infrastructure and applications.
- Business Continuity: Develop disaster recovery plans, ensuring the organization’s resilience in the face of potential disruptions.
- Security Audits: Conduct security audits, address findings, and work with auditors to ensure compliance and optimal performance of security programs.
- Vendor Management: Evaluate and manage third-party security solutions, ensuring they meet organizational standards.
- Team Development: Mentor and coach cybersecurity team members, fostering a collaborative and skilled security team.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years in cybersecurity, including at least 5 years in leadership.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or GIAC.
- Strong knowledge of threat management, risk analysis, and compliance.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in humanitarian or development environments.
- Fluency in English and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
