ANALYST – DATA ANALYTICS SYSTEMS, SALARY GRADE ZRA06 (1 POSITION), BUSINESS FACILITATION, DATA ANALYTICS FUNCTION

A.    PURPOSE

Reporting to the Senior Analyst- Data Analytic Systems, the job holder will be responsible for supporting ZRAs business by developing internal data capabilities and implementing data analytics and business intelligence solutions in collaboration with Data Analytics and Business Domain Experts.

Responsibility:

B.    MAIN DUTIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES

1.    Defining and validating business metadata for each Data element;

2.    Collaborating with data analysts and scientists to develop and implement analytics solutions;

3.    Translating business needs into technical specifications for data projects and initiatives;

4.    Collecting and analysing data for insights;

5.    Assisting in data migration and integration into various systems and platforms, ensuring data quality and integrity;

6.    Helping build and maintain data environments, reports, and dashboards to support business intelligence;

7.    Gathering data for Data Science models;

8.    Communicating findings and recommendations to stakeholders through reports, presentations, and data visualisations;

9.    Supporting data-driven decision making;

10.    Ensuring data privacy and security by following established protocols and guidelines;

11.    Collaborating with technical teams to seamlessly integrate model outputs into production systems, ensuring compliance with data collection, integration, and retention needs. This involves understanding and implementing business requirements, as well as leveraging best practices;

12.    Coordinating with ICT for data environments;

13.    Designing and maintaining BIDA reports and dashboards; and

14.    Providing training and support on data analytics tools.

C.    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

1.    Grade Twelve School Certificate/General Certificate of Education Equivalent with five (5) Credits or better;

2.    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology/Systems, Mathematics/Statistics, Economics or any numerate discipline;

3.    Minimum two (2) years’ relevant post qualifying work experience in Data Analytics or relevant field;

4.    Relevant professional qualifications and/or certification in the following will be an added advantage

Programming Languages such as Python and/or R, which are commonly used for data analysis and machine learning;

Machine Learning courses covering machine learning algorithms, such as regression, classification, clustering, and deep learning;

Data Visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or matplotlib/seaborn in Python for creating visualizations to communicate insights; and

SQL for querying databases and managing data.

1.    Assisting in the implementation of the Authority’s recruitment and selection policy;

2.     Raising requisitions and checking that all employment requisitions submitted for recruitment are within approved establishments;

3.    Preparing pre-recruitment documentation such as job adverts, short-listing minutes, interview folders and rating forms;

4.    Participating in the short-listing process of applicants, interviews and recommendation of applicants for appointment in line with relevant rules and regulations for fair employment practices;
